Frequently Asked Questions

What is Playing11.com?

Playing11.com is a gaming site. We host a variety of fantasy cricket games. Fantasy cricket games are statistical games based on real-life performances of professional cricket players.

What are Fantasy Games?

Fantasy games are a way for individual fans to compete against each other to see who has the best managerial acumen in any given sport.

The first order of business in creating any fantasy league is collecting participants. As team owners, these individuals draft real-life, professional players to create a fantasy roster (Squad). The statistics these players generate in their real games are collected, and fantasy points are awarded based on these numbers. The better a player performs, the more fantasy points he accrues for a fantasy team. In fantasy cricket, these points determine a winner in weekly head-to-head games between your league's teams. The team that accumulates the most victories over the course of the season and prevails in the knockouts stage is declared the league winner.

What is Fantasy Cricket?

Fantasy cricket is the closest thing a user can find to buying and owning a professional cricket franchise and becoming the team's coach, owner, and president. All decisions are for the user to make. Each team owner is supplied with all of the tools - multiple draft methods, live scores, unlimited waivers, trades and free agency, custom team injury updates, a commissioner, league bulletin boards, sortable stats for all players, etc. - needed to build the best possible team.

Statistical reports, expert analysis, and up-to-date feature articles will be readily available to keep owners informed. Armed with this information, owners are free to create the team of their dreams. An owner must be crafty to win, competing directly with other equally determined owners. But rest assured that there is a league out there that fits your needs. Owners can choose against whom they compete and at what level of competition.

During the final weeks of the fantasy regular season, the top teams in each fantasy league play each other for the league championship, while the remaining teams compete in the consolation bracket.

How does the scoring work?

Fantasy points are awarded based on how well your players perform in each of several statistical categories. All real-life statistics have associated point values, and each player's points are summed up to produce your weekly total.

In Man of the match leagues, if you predict the man of the match correctly, you get points for a correct pick.

In Pool Picks leagues, if you predict the match winner correctly, you get points for a correct pick.

In Survivor leagues, if you predict the match winner correctly, you stay alive in the league.

In Salary Cap and Best Team leagues the goal is simple on being the highest scorer. Users set a weekly lineup based on league requirements and hope players collect more fantasy points than anyone else's. Points are tallied throughout the fantasy cricket season, and the team with the highest total at the end of the league duration wins the league championship.

What are fantasy leagues?

A League is a group of teams competing against each other. A user can create a league or join a league. Some leagues are created by Site Administrator.

User creates a custom League and personally invites only those managers he/she wants to join. As the league founder or commissioner, user can configure virtually all aspects of your league, from the scoring system to the style of draft.

To join someone else's Custom League, user must get the League ID# and Password from the commissioner.

If the user does not have enough managers to build an entire league himself, user can join one of the Public Leagues and compete against fantasy fans from around the world. All Public Leagues use the same default settings.

What are the fair play guidelines or rules on this site?

Even though fantasy games are meant to be a competitive experience for all involved, it is important to us that our users not lose sight of the rules of fair play and good sportsmanship.

To this end, each fantasy team owner agrees that, by joining the game, they will abide by the following regulations:

  • All league-related transactions will be executed with the intent of improving the owner's team and/or its standing within the league.
  • No owner may drop or "dump" players from their team for any reason other than improving their own team and/or its standing within the league.
  • No owner will engage in any action that may be deemed to be collusive (two or more owners agreeing to make moves that benefit one team, but not the other).
  • No owner will make any roster moves (including waiver claims, trade proposals, etc.) whose sole purpose is to hamper the play of other owners.
  • No owner will take any action whose purpose is to, in any way, interfere with fair play in a league.

While will not remove teams from leagues after they have drafted, any failure to follow all of the items listed above may result in the limitation or removal of playing privileges for the offending owner. These restrictions may include:

  • The suspension of specific game privileges (trading, message board posting, etc.) for the remainder of the season.
  • The suspension of ALL playing privileges for the remainder of the season.
  • The complete deactivation and removal of the corresponding Playing11.com account.
  • Any other action that Playing11.com, at its sole discretion, feels is necessary to restore fair play to the league.

It is the responsibility of team owners to monitor activity within their leagues. If, as an owner, you notice any suspicious or collusive activity in your league, please notify us at once so that we may investigate and take the appropriate action—if any is deemed necessary—against the offending team(s) and/or account(s).
